This new book Oracle Alchemy is the result of a very organic and prolonged meditation of sorts. Ironically, I am a Gemini, so at first I was writing like five new books all at the same time. That felt very natural. I am like a kid at the cash register grabbing the gum, the candy, and all the other impulse items as I am drawn to them.
So I had no idea which scribblings would take the lead and become the next publication. I had to see which idea would compel me to finish it. It had to emerge.
So there was personal story stuff that I have been wanting to write for literally decades, because there were certain very formative life events that I always knew needed to be told. So there was that strong thread. Then there was my unending obsession with reading cards. This is like the well with no bottom.
And it parallels this journey I have had, this search, for extraordinary living. Cards are so ingrained in my brain, it has become this grand metaphor for my life. So as I developed as a person, my way of card reading developed. Methods for approaching life became reflected in methods of approaching cards. So it is a great way of talking about life without really talking about it. It is ultimate Zen.
But there is something else cool here. Because cards, or at least the way my dad (and myself) deciphered the language in playing cards for divination, is that it is a language for a reality very transcendent. At least potentially. As mentioned, it is a well with no bottom.
So you can look at cards as reflections of the most mundane of representations, a language that can help guide one through the everyday, and that is important. But for those who are ready, it provides a tool for more focused personal evolution. And this is what Oracle Alchemy really delves into, much more so than my previous book on card reading, The Playing Card Oracles. It takes everything to the next level. Plus, 99% of what is in the book can be applied to any type of cards, any method of card reading, so this is very exciting for anyone who is working with cards.
So Oracle Alchemy weaves together both transformational card reading and the stories and lessons that defined my early life. Because my early life led me to cards. Cards hunted me, lassoed me like a baby calf, and gave me a language for my continuing journey of self realization. Life is cards. And through cards, we can learn to have a life extraordinary.
So when it came down to it, I wrote Oracle Alchemy because there is nothing else like it anywhere, and like my first book, demanded to be written. It is about the magic behind the art, the real magic. It reveals some serious secrets. But cards in themselves are not the magic, the person is, and the cards are the props. It is the person, the operator, who imbues them. So how do we optimize that? It is the same in life. The physical world is props – tools – for the magical being.
My hope and intention is that card reading will be forever impacted by this book – that it will help to clear a new pathway for the future. Now we are using techniques that were developed in a different time on this planet, and that traveled through ages of ignorance to reach us where we’re at today. But there is a new vibration emerging and making itself known, that is here to help us from a galactic point of view, and this book injects this excitement into our beloved art. As I say, this book takes card reading to the next level.
So there is an awakening happening now. And it is very obvious. The atrocities and the injustices we are witnessing now on the planet have always been going on. It is the human story. The difference now is that we are seeing them. It feels worse because we are aware now of what we were unaware of before. Oblivion is not freedom. The seeing must come first. Then transformation. But seeing is the first step – awareness. And awareness in itself is powerful.
And along with this awakening, this awareness happening on a global scale, there is this fantastic technology, giving us the tools to move forward. The tools to heal problems that were previously unsolvable. So we have the potential to evolve as a planet right now, but we are in no way in the clear. There is still tons of ignorance. There are so many people on the planet right now, many with no desire but to survive, using any means. But awakening is a vibration, and we have reason to hope. But we are at a planetary scale crossroads, so right now is time for maximum effort for those who are able, and who are called.
So this is why I write this book now. It is time. It is time for those who are able to step up and help tip the scale to do so. Card readers can be a force for evolution and healing.We are more than we have been taught to believe we are. At least potentially. And it’s not the old “believe in me don’t question me,” kind of stuff. That is yesterday. I am asking card readers to take a leap – first mentally, to believe they can be powerful agents of transformation, and then to take the actions. Each of us will become a true master, no longer a follower. We are the Priests and Priestesses of the era to come: agents of healing and of hope. Oracles of wisdom. Shamans with cards.
