Little Grandmother, Day 2: Unexpected Miracles

Day 2:

It’s odd now, sitting before my computer, my self-assigned task of writing about my experience of Day 2 with Litlte Grandmother.

I don’t feel like writing much at all. To recount the day blow by blow feels too exhaustive. Too mental. So much happened that was unplanned. Lessons brought to me in strange ways, unexpected. But press on I must, doing my best for the sake of recording what happened, both for myself, at a later time, and for others.

Briefly, it started off with an announcement by Keisha (Little Grandmother) that she and other members of the organizational team had been robbed (significantly), sometime during the gathering by someone apparently outside the group. Cops arrived and Keisha had to leave the gathering to speak with them.

Interestingly, before leaving she recounted how the evening before she meditated and meditated on what to talk about the next day and nothing came. Only when she arrived at the event in the morning did the simple phrase “The Tribe of Many Colors” come to her.

Nothing new, right? We had talked about this concept the day before and it didn’t seem (to me) like it needed anymore elaboration.

So while Little Grandmother was absent from the group talking to the cops, a silent but growing consensus began to fill the room. We would take up a collection to repay the money lost. We had been told that one of the people who was robbed actually had the entire tuition for her son’s school in cash in her purse at the time of the crime.

Collection hats flew around the room in an effort to collect all the money as quickly as possible in order to surprise Keisha with the gift by the time she returned. We had our first task as a “tribe.”

She was totally taken off guard when returning – finding an entire bag of cash waiting at her chair. Many thanks and tears ensued. Someone in the “tribe” joked how it takes a whole village to educate a child! It was a beautiful illustration of how, as Little Grandmother continues to remind us, “together we are powerful.”

It had been an emotional roller coaster for L.G. from the get go and we spent the rest of the morning recounting animal stories, her own and from the group. The stories from the group seemed to go on and on for me and frankly many were hard to hear and didn’t seem all that compelling.

It is no secret Keisha has a long history of connection with animals and has gained a great amount of comfort from them over her life time. It felt as though this was one of those moments when she would have run into the wilderness if she could have, escaping the world to be with her feathered and furry companions. In hind sight, it seems that listening to the stories created that space for her.

In the mean time, my head was going nuts. I wanted “more.” I wanted to know what Little Grandmother knows. I wanted her knowledge. I wanted something “juicy.” The week end was slipping by all too quickly.

For the 2nd time that morning I began to  feel I needed to stay open to a miracle. I know from experience that no matter how it looks to the mind, Spirit always knows exactly what It’s doing. I had to trust there was no mistake here and that if I stayed open, I would get the gift.

Then, it hit me. What Keisha had been saying all along. GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND INTO YOUR HEART!!!! It was my head that was telling me animal stories from the group were a waste of time. It was my head that wanted more “information.” My heart was perfectly content to listen to stories about animals. Eureka!  Yes, I actually LOVE animal stories! And what a nice demonstration of how to take care of oneself after experiencing something traumatic.

I felt relief, knowing that I had received a valuable “lesson” that morning (actually, more than one). So much greater than simply “information.”

The day continued and we gathered for a beautiful ceremony, meditating (again to Tom Kenyon’s Pineal Gland soundtrack), and receiving our own personal energy color and animal totem from Little Grandmother.

We ended  with a most astounding prayer ceremony, infusing our own Quartz Crystals with blessings beyond beauty. The group was invited to offer up individual prayers to put into the crystals and they came in all forms and all languages. People were there from all over the world, and we experienced prayers and song in Hawaiian, Tibetan, Spanish, and all kind of other languages I could not tell you what they were. No matter, my heart understood it all, for in truth, they were all in ONE language – the language of love.

As Little Grandmother continued by handing special crystals blessed by tribal elders to people in the room who could bring them to the Gulf of Mexico, I was struck once again by another unexpected realization: I had the distinct impression of being part of an elite organization – a team of Secret Agents preparing to be dispersed around the globe, receiving secret instruction for nothing less than the healing of Planet Earth.

“Wow! These people are Secret Agents!” I thought. “They look like ordinary people but they are actually Angels of Light, come to save the planet! And here I am!!”

And here you are, reading this post. It is for you. YOU are part of the TRIBE OF MANY COLORS. We are ALL brothers and sisters. As L.G. brilliantly puts it, the time for student and teacher is over. We are ALL here now. The bravest of the brave. The ones we have been waiting for.
