Oracle Art wowee zowee
Categories: Blog
For me, there is nothing that stands up to my dad’s own Oracle art * – especially his original oil paintings. Seeing them in person, life-sized as they are, is just wowee zowee. There are these amazing little neon gem tones that just pop in the light, and the brushwork, expressions, compositions – I could go on and on. Well not to mention they are super creepy in an other-worldly sort of way which is just a big intoxicant for me. This is, in my opinion, how good Oracle artwork should be.
So me, my daughter and son all made the trek over to the storage locker today, to archive the originals that remain. They were painted in the 70′s, so this something LONG overdue. My dad died about two years ago, and as keeper of the creepers, I have vowed to get this deck of 52 published. There still remain scattered photographs of paintings that have gone by the wayside, so with a little organization and luck, I think I can pull together the entirety.
Anyway, it was a great day, especially sharing it all with my son and daughter, who are just totally blown away by their Grandpa’s work.
Soon you will be able to pre-order this new deck!! Stay tuned for upcoming info!!!

I am truly loving these “sneak peaks”. I must say I am totally in love with the Fata Morgana painting… if you ever decide to make prints of it, I’ll certainly buy one to hang on my wall! She’s a seductive little witch, is she not?
Thank you for sharing your father’s work with us. He was such a talented man! I wish I could thank him myself for creating such inspiring pieces of art, who have become friends to me in the shape of an oracle…
I am very much hoping a publisher will do this art up as an oracle. They are super creepy but in a subtle sort of way–affecting, reflective (literally in the case of this sample.)
It’s rare these days that I am taken with new decks but the artwork of your father is so powerful in a world awash with collage copycat stuff. The “real deal” as they say. (More literalness!)
Like several card bloggers I am rereading your Playing Card Oracles book and giving the system another try. I like your sensibility and that of your father.
Good to see this fresh and exciting project, it will be a terrific legacy for your Dad.
i am confused. I read on a tarot forum that the PCO deck from U.S.Games was being reprinted by them. Is that what you are talking about here, or is there another deck being printed that is your dad’s wonderful artwork?
The information you got in the forum is correct, but what this post is about is a different deck by C.J. Freeman. A Secret Weapon!
ohhh…and this new deck will be another playing card oracle?
Ana, I waited so long to buy your deck/book, and now am so glad that i did. It speaks to me in a much stronger and more clear way than tarot does. And it’s been fun, learning your system. I can’t wait to see this new one -
